November A Success

November was busy, but we’re beginning to see a slow down as we enter the holiday season. We helped 28 kids this month and each one enjoyed their day and gave us plenty of smiles.

We’d like to thank the following volunteers for helping make this month’s birthday blessings a great one. It was because of you that these smiles happened.

Kristi O, Niki G, Nichole S, Bethany H, Julie H, Linda R, Lisa B, Barb D, Jill R, Linda G, Joe H, Dana B, Beverly G, Layla O, Kelly C, Darcey B, Janice W, Sherrell T, Kimberly A, Gwyn D, Kim M, Kelly B, Diane S, Sheila H, Annette C, Judy A-S, Shauna P, Dorothy L, Pam C, and Wendy S

We appreciate you all taking time out of your lives to be able to bake, shop, and even deliver to these children. The parents appreciate you and the kids certainly do.

This month, we are spotlighting another volunteer. We would like for you to meet Linda!

My daughter Niki shared an email that she received from a friend. The email read –  “Niki, your Mom would love being part of this!” The information was the story of Birthday Blessings KC. Long story short……I contacted & met Kelly Chambers. I was blessed to be able to “tag along” with her for some deliveries. During the deliveries I knew that this ministry would be something that I would love being involved in. Kelly’s heart was visible with each delivery & I wanted to mirror her love for each of the children & their families. I have shared this ministry with our neighborhood “Missional Community” group & now there are five families (with a total of 13 children in those families) who share in the purchase of gifts, balloons, baking of cakes & cupcakes. When making the deliveries I have been able to experience how “Birthday Blessings” changes lives. There has not been one delivery where I don’t drive away with a smile on my face & usually some tears in my eyes. This ministry has impacted so many families, myself & our Missional Community. I sincerely thank Kelly & Jill for their dream & mission to bring a “Birthday Blessing” to many deserving children & their families.
